Homemade Gluten Free Granola
Do you ever find a bag of granola that you love and then can't find it in the store again, find out that it's filled with unnecessary sugar or is ridiculously pricey for being a bag of baked oats? Here's my go-to recipe for making your own granola at home. It's SO simple and completely customizable to your own liking. That's one of the best parts about granola, you can literally add whatever you want to it and it's amazing.

Ingredients
- 2 cups gluten free oats - I love One Degree Organics sprouted oats
- 1/4 cup chia seeds
- 1/4 hemp seeds
- 1/4 raw almonds
- 1/4 cup dried cherries
- 1/4 cup sprouted pumpkin seeds
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- 2 tbsp ground flax seed
- 1/4 cup raw shelled pistachios
- 2 tbsp ceylon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup raw coconut shavings or flakes
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup or agave
- 1 tsp instant espresso (optional, but I love the addition)
- sea salt to taste
Directions
- Step 1
- – Preheat oven to 350F. Line your baking sheet with parchment paper. I ended up using multiple baking sheets, so having extra is very handy.
- Step 2
- - In a large bowl, add in the dry ingredients (oats, chia seeds, hemp seeds, almonds, dried cherries, pumpkin seeds, flax seed, pistachios and coconut shavings).
- Step 3
- - In a small bowl, combine the maple syrup and warm, liquified coconut oil until they are combined.
- Step 4
- - Drizzle the warmed liquid ingredients into the bowl of mixed oats and such.
- Step 5
- - Sprinkle in cinnamon, espresso (if using), and sea salt.
- Step 6
- - Using a rubber spatula, mix it together well and then transfer to lined baking sheet.
- Step 7
- - Lightly press down on the oat mixture with the spatula to ensure it stays on the baking sheet and nothing is falling off into your oven.
- Step 8
- - Place in oven and bake for about 35 to 40 minutes, shaking the tray half way. You want to make sure that the oats brown up nicely and that your nuts and seeds are toasted.
- Step 9
- - Once baked, remove from your oven and let cool for about 10 minutes.
- Step 10
- TA- DAH! Now you have your own homemade gluten free granola that is good for a week to two weeks! Store it in a glass jar with a good lid to ensure that it keeps for optimal taste 🙂
