This is the smoothie that I have been loving and having nearly every. single. day! Ella also is constantly asking for some too, so naturally it’s a huge win. I always love drinking smoothies because you can pack so many different things into one and you don’t even realize all the added nutrients you are consuming, if you load your smoothie correctly. Also, with this glorious but also scorching weather we’ve been having, this smoothie couldn’t come at a better time. Whether you need a new idea for a quick and healthy breakfast, or a fulfilling post workout snack, or just a quick, on-the-go smoothie, this is it!
Mango Honey Vanilla Greens Smoothie
- October 16, 2021
- 1 extra large smoothie, 2 medium ones
- 5 min
- Print this
Ingredients
- 1 cup frozen mango
- 1 tbsp honey (we love Sleeping Bear Farms or Thrive Market)
- 1 serving your favorite vanilla protein powder (I have been loving and using Vega Plant Based Vanilla Sport, I give it to Ella, too!)
- 2 large handfuls of fresh or frozen spinach
- 1/2 cup ice OR handful of frozen bok choi stems (this is a funny one, and people always question me on this, but bok choi are 99% water so I just trim them when we get some and freeze it for smoothies instead of ice!)
- 1-2 tsp spirulina powder (we get ours from Thrive Market)
- optional toppings: sprinkle of bee pollen (we also get from Thrive Market) & light drizzle of Fix & Fogg Maple + Coffee Butter (another Thrive Market find that I LOVE)
Directions
- Step 1
- – Add all of the ingredients except for the toppings to a high speed blender.
- Step 2
- - I like to add the frozen mango first, and layer the rest on top for best blending.
- Step 3
- - Blend for about 30 seconds on low to medium speed and then up to high speed for about 60 seconds.
- Step 4
- - Pour smoothie mixture into glassware.
- Step 5
- - Top with your favorite toppings, I love adding bee pollen and fix & fogg butter to the top of mine! I always love rotating in some of my gluten free homemade granola when I have it on hand, too.
- Step 6
- - Happy smoothie making :).
