Happy Mother’s Day weekend! Here’s a fun and super easy spread to make for your mom, grandmas, etc this weekend. The best part about charcuterie boards is that there is no right or wrong way how to make them. You can literally add any of your favorites to a fun platter and be ready to share with your loved ones. When I make a charcuterie board, I try to keep it a little bit lighter because otherwise I eat my weight in cheese and don’t feel well. When you add more fresh sliced veggies and fruits to your tray, your body will usually thank you. Here’s my fun take on the charcuterie board that I made last weekend and hope to make again, just a little differently on Sunday :). Beware, if you have a cat, you may want to do this away from them seeing that my cat tried to take down my board about a handful of times.

Ingredients
- - cheese board, long or circular platter, your favorite thing to use for a spread.
- - 1 sliced cucumber
- - 1 sliced apple, we love honeycrisp apples!
- - Kale or other greens to lay underneath spread
- - 2 kinds of gluten free crackers (if gluten free, or just your favorites) I add Mary's Super Seedy crackers, some pepper jack Nut Thins and a few Simple Mills sea salt almond flour crackers.
- - Nuts of choice, we had sriracha almonds
- - I love a good sweet and savory combo, so I added in some chocolate, cherry nut mix
- - Fresh cut strawberries
- - Fresh sliced bell peppers
- - Green pitted olives
- - Ithaca lemon dill hummus
- - Prosciutto
- - Gluten free chocolate mint cookies
- - Leelanau Cheese aged green peppercorn raclette
- - Leelanau Cheese Black Truffle formage
- - Salami
- - Mini breadsticks
- - Sliced horseradish havarti
- - Fav dip/jam/jelly- I added some local Raspberry Jalapeno jam
Directions
- Step 1
- – Slice all your fruits and vegetables before assembling your board.
- Step 2
- - I like to place the larger items first, like the hummus, nut mixture, and figure out where the bigger (formage) cheese will go.
- Step 3
- - Then I surround with fresh veggies.
- Step 4
- - After that, add the smaller containers of olives, breadsticks, jams, etc.
- Step 5
- - I then add handfuls of crackers to fill up the board and figure out how to fold meat properly (still trying to figure that out).
- Step 6
- - Last but not least, crack at Tandem Cider or pour a glass of wine for your favorite loved ones and let me know how you enjoy our board together :).
